Time To Move?
Time to decide if you should downsize, upsize, move out of state, stay in state
or possibly move in with family members?
Life brings us change and sometimes we just don’t know which way to turn. It
may be that we just want more time to “play” or it may be that we just can’t
keep up with all of the maintenance your current home requires. Whatever
your situation may be, we are here for you.
Our Team is here to help you determine your lifestyle needs. We are an all-inone
resource to help seniors with all of their moving needs. Our transition services
include the following:
- Assist you with determining lifestyle needs and dreams.
- Provide you with information in housing choices.
- Work directly or indirectly with family members…whatever you choose.
- Provide you with reputable professionals that have proven to be reliable
time and time again, whether it is legal services, insurance, financial planners
or other services.
- Guide you through the sale of your current home and handle all of the details
of your move to your new home.
You have made your decision…what now? Give us a call. Our certified Senior
Move Manager, Laura Feauto, is a member of the National Associate of Senior
Move Managers (NASMM). NASMM is an organization of Senior Move
Managers dedicated to assisting seniors and their families with the actual moving
experience, as well as the emotional and physical aspects of the move. Part
of Laura’s services may include:
- Sorting and organizing your possessions/treasures. Do you want specific
pieces to be distributed to family members or friends? Do you want to have
an auction or donate items to charity? We even assist with tag sales!
- Professionally “stage” your current home to ensure that it will sell quickly
for the highest possible price.
- Pack your current home, hire the movers, oversee the move, and unpack at
your new home.
Now it’s time to put your home on the market. Our Senior Real Estate
Specialist (SRES), Janice Kernel, is a local Real Estate Agent that is experienced
and knowledgeable in meeting your specific needs. By earning
the SRES designation, Janice has demonstrated the necessary
knowledge and experience to counsel senior clients through major lifestyle
transitions. She will:
- Complete a comprehensive computer analysis of your home’s current
market value.
- Arrange for a “pre sale” home inspection to avoid surprises once
there is an accepted offer on the home.
- Assist you in correcting repairs or defects, if an inspection is completed
prior to the sale
- Work directly with the Home Stager to ensure we sell your home for
top dollar.
- List your home, per your request, keeping you involved and informed
every step of the way.
Moving is a very emotional and stressful process for anyone, regardless
of age. We have experienced this first hand and we assure you that it is
our goal to make your move as smooth as possible. Our Team will
provide you with personal, hands-on service to assist you and your family
every step of the way.
THIS IS YOUR TIME. LIVE YOUR DREAMS,
YOUR PASSIONS, YOUR DESIRES.

Buying Land and New Construction >Buying New or Buying Old
New homes typically have a higher sales price than comparable existing homes, and buyers are usually willing to spend more on a new home because of lower maintenance costs. Builders' warranties on new homes, when combined with a new roof, appliances, and major systems, usually make major repairs unnecessary and help to counter a slower initial rate of appreciation.
Census Bureau Housing Surveys suggests that operating costs are lowest for brand new homes and slightly higher for relatively new existing homes. Operating costs per square foot of living space are consistently higher for progressively older existing homes. Utility costs represent the largest factor in operating costs. Energy consumption per square foot depends on the size of the home, the insulation and quality of the windows, air leakage and the efficiency of the furnace.
New homes require fewer expenditures for routine maintenance. The cost of maintenance first increases with age, then declines, so you will generally spend less maintaining a home built before 1960 than for a home built between 1970 and 1975.
